# Wake Sports at Bay Harbor Islands: Miami's Hidden Gem

Bay Harbor Islands on the Intracoastal Waterway is one of the best-kept secrets in Miami wake sports.

## Why Bay Harbor Is Special

The ICW channels between Bay Harbor Islands and the mainland are some of the most protected, flat-water riding zones in South Florida. The islands block the easterly sea breeze, the channels are deep enough for wake sports (8–12 feet), and the residential waterfront scenery is stunning.

## The Riding Zone

The main riding zone runs along the ICW between the 96th Street bridge and the Broad Causeway. It's about 1.5 miles of protected channel with minimal boat traffic on weekday mornings.

## Best Time to Ride

Weekday mornings (7–10 AM) are ideal. The channel is quiet, the water is glassy, and the light is beautiful.
